Ways to set up WiFi router with ADSL router



The options given here are to connect a WiFi router to an ADSL router and thus share internet connectivity through WiFi.

1. Double NAT


ADSL Router WiFi Router
IP Address of Router 192.168.1.1 192.168.0.1
DHCP Enable Enable
DHCP Range 192.168.1.2 - 192.168.1.100 192.168.0.2 - 192.168.0.100
Internet settings PPPoE Automatic
Connect from/to LAN Port WAN Port

2. Access Point


ADSL Router WiFi Router
IP Address of Router 192.168.1.1 192.168.1.254
DHCP Enable Disable
DHCP Range 192.168.1.2 - 192.168.1.100 N/A
Internet settings PPPoE as Access Point
Connect from/to LAN Port LAN Port

3. Bridge

ADSL Router WiFi Router
IP Address of Router 192.168.1.1 192.168.1.254
DHCP Disable Enable
DHCP Range N/A 192.168.1.2 - 192.168.1.100
Internet settings Bridge PPPoE
Connect from/to LAN Port WAN Port
