Creating Windows 7/8 Bootable USB Drive

First, create an ISO file from a Windows DVD using Ashampoo® Burning Studio FREE or Burnaware_free (recommended).

Microsoft ” Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool” allows you to create bootable Windows 7 or Windows 8 USB or DVD drives from the ISO image files. But while using this software some users might face an error "The selected ISO is not a valid ISO file. Please select a valid ISO file and try again”.

To fix this, download and install Ultra ISO from here. Open Ultra ISO and then go to File >> Open and select the ISO file from the directory.

Click on the little check sign located at the left hand side as shown below.

It will open a new window showing you the ISO properties as shown below.

Uncheck the box Joilet and Uncheck the box Omit ISO 9660 version Number and Check UDF as shown below

Go to File >> Save As and save it as a new ISO.

Download Windows 7 USB/DVD download tool here. Select the new ISO in step 1 and burn it to a USB drive.
