Many of us have surprisingly little understanding of what money actually is. Money is often treated either as a taboo subject or as something surrounded by misconceptions, moral judgments and half-understood ideas. So, before we get into saving or investing, I thought it might be worth stepping back and asking the most basic question of all: what exactly is money?
